I can’t wait to be back

13.09.2022

I would give 10 stars, if it would be possible. From a stunning and comfortable boat to a crew that goes the extra mile and leaves no wish unfulfilled. Our cook Dave was amazing! The Captain Leon made us feel safe during rougher sea. I can understand why people come back regularly and I can’t wait to be back myself.

Many special moments

04.07.2022

We had the pleasure of sailing on Chronos as a private charter with our best friends to celebrate several anniversaries. Chronos is a stylish and spacious yacht with all the comforts you would expect during a 5 star hotel stay, including excellent food, sundowners, plenty of space and luxury cabins with en-suite shower rooms and friendly and service oriented staff. We shared many special moments with our friends during our week long trip, including waking up in the most beautiful anchorages, lots of swimming and watersports, visits to picturesque villages, watching dolphins play in our bow wave, meals on the aft deck while cruising along the Amalfi coast, and fun evening parties. The captain and his crew did their very best to make our visit a special one and were flexible in accommodating our groups wishes - including landfall for guests who flew in and out during the week. We had many personal stories and speeches during the week and some of us partied until the early hours, yet the crew always maintained a discrete, respectful and professional approach to all of our guests. We could feel that they enjoyed that we were having fun. There was a very friendly and positive vibe on board throughout the week and we received many nice messages from our guests afterwards. We all miss Chronos and hope to be a guest again at some point in the future!

The entire trip was fantastic

17.05.2022

I wanted to let Sailing-Classics know about my experience on the April 6th to May 5th Atlantic Crossing from Antigua to Mallorca on Chronos. Everything about the entire trip was fantastic. The captain Jan Dobrogowski did an amazing job of managing the adventure. Every aspect of the trip was first class and professional. All of the crew worked really well together and were professional, friendly and relaxed all at once. Managing safety, the route, the weather, the schedule and the various guests' personalities is not a small endeavor. So congratulations and a big thank you to everyone.

A most wonderful sailing week after the quarantine

13.08.2021

We had the most wonderful sailing week after such a long time in ”quarantine”! The crew was amazing, they had a chemistry that made them extraordinary and Leon the captain was a wonderful teacher in sailing and explaining the winds, anchors etc… and was very patient with swimmers who did not have a watch ;-) Mario the chef was amazing - so humble and his food, bread etc. super delicious!!! Thank you for a wonderful week - we all 4 loved every minute!

GREAT!

23.03.2020

Just a quick email, to let you know we arrived safely home again after a wonderful sailing trip on the Chronos. It was really very beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of it: a beautiful ship, very nice surroundings and nice excursions, fine weather, a perfect crew with a wonderful cook (the lobster of the captain’s dinner on Sunday evening was delicious), it was in one word GREAT! We want to thank you and your colleagues very much for all the arrangements you made for us (stay, flights, transfers etc.)! This made our own preparations and the travel itself a lot easier. I don’t think this was our last trip with Sailing-Classics, we are thinking already about the next one!

Once again a great experience

02.09.2019

Dear Sailing Classics team, the sailing trip on the Rhea from Marinella to Saint-Florent was once again a great experience. Captain and crew of the highest competence, with outstanding friendliness and helpfulness. And the ship itself was a constant feel-good moment. I'm looking forward to seeing you again.

Thank you for this successful holiday!

09.08.2019

We made only the best experiences on this voyage on the ship itself. As a sailor with many thousands of miles of own skipper experience, I have appreciated the careful and responsible navigation as well as the choice of route by Captain Nico; he is really a great enrichment for your team in human and technical regard! The rest of the team deserves no less praise; all helpful, dedicated and above all friendly and courteous. Thank you for this successful holiday!

The crew was a really good team!

03.06.2019

I can't put it any other way, the trip was just great. Apart from this beautiful ship and the daily sailing, which was a unique experience with all the sails, everything was just right. The crew was a really good team. Every single one of them fulfilled his tasks with friendliness and professionalism... You could see that everyone enjoyed it... Although I have made many different kinds of boat trips, this one was my most beautiful one.

An outstanding captain...

06.05.2019

Although this was the 4th time that I have been sailing with Sailing-Classics, this trip was once again outstanding and this was mainly due to Captain Richard Slootweg, who always arranged his trip with commitment and friendliness so that the guests could see and experience as much as possible. Of course we were lucky again with the weather, cook Randolf and the sailing area. I already knew the sailing area, but thanks to Richard and his crew I experienced much more new and different things than the first time. And sailing has not been neglected either...

Happy after five weeks on board...

25.01.2019

They were very relaxed and safe weeks. Thanks to Captain Nico, who had the ship under control at all times. Thanks to the deck crew who skilfully implemented the sailing instructions. Thanks to the service crew, who were always there to fulfil the wishes of the guests in the most friendly way. Thanks to the chefs who were able to convince with their skills.

Jürgen, Atlantic crossing Tenerife - St. Maarten and Christmas/New Year's Eve in the BVI, December 2018 at RHEA

And, of course, thanks to the on-board engineer, who was immediately on the spot if there was anything that needed to be repaired. The ship and the entire crew on board made the trips a great personal experience, which I will keep in my best memory.

A great combination of sailing and hiking

05.12.2018

Congratulations on your trip, by the way. It was a great combination of sailing and hiking. It's a pity that this only exists on Cape Verde at the moment. Congratulations also to your captain, who even hoisted the sails and turned off the engine at low wind speeds. We had dreamlike days with a dreamlike crew and a super tour guide.

A great experience!

25.10.2018

We had the pleasure from 06.10. - 13.10. to accompany the transfer of the Kairós. You have a great team and a great ship, which gave us an incomparable sailing experience. Starting with Captain Nico, who despite the strong flu is not only a good captain, but also a real "unique captain", with a good instinct for his team, his ship and his guests. Chapeau for the choice! Even Elena, who is really good with food (who likes to eat, appreciates that), and the technically versed John and everyone else on board.

H.C. and A. after the transfer Venice - Malta at the KAIRÓS, October 2018

Everyone in their place: Top! It was fun. You can't do anything for the good weather, but it was good for the frame and our enthusiasm. Although we have been sailing a lot with our own classic yacht for 30 years now, we will certainly want to be your guest again, contrary to our own expectations, and are already looking forward to a repeat of this unique experience.

Once again we would like to thank you and the whole KAIRÓS team - Nico, John, Mathias, Aafke, Deborah, Sky and the magician of the kitchen - Elena. We didn't expect to be spoiled so much - I like to take the felt 3 kilos home with me in a "duffel bag". We'll be back, we promise.

For 20 years I dreamed of this trip ...

16.07.2018

A friendly ahoy to you,
Actually, I wanted to write you a real letter, but the everyday life has me now firmly in its grasp, and so unfortunately, a lot remains on the tracks of what you have planned. But under no circumstances do I want to forget one thing, to say thank you to the entire CHRONOS team and crew.

André after the Atlantic crossing Bahamas - Gibraltar on the CHRONOS in May/June 2018

There were wonderful days on board, which were priceless, it was an experience I would like to miss under any circumstances. When our microcosm shoved off on 26/05/2018 in Nassau at the John-Alfred Kai, broke the lines and the CHRONOS pushed out of the harbour, we were forged together for good luck and a certain excitement built up. Everyone was curious how it developed. But after a short time it was clear, it will be a great experience and it played out as a great community. Richard directed the yacht through the waves with an "ass calm" and inspired everyone for the sextant, Benjamin conjured up a meal for us all in his galley (no matter what the weather). Piotr just fixed everything from the tumble dryer to the hook, Marie-Jeanne washed our T-shirts. These names are representative of all, I would have to name each, but then the mail will be infinitely long. Everything seemed effortless, though it was not easy. We soon felt we were not just guests, we belonged to the crew.
Yes, of course there was sometimes the feeling of standing in the way or it was just different than expected. But that's life and even a cloud makes the blue sky really beautiful.

The limousine to Malaga, you could not have cared if the taxi drivers ripped us off, no, you got us a dream car and had us safely transported to Malaga.

For 20 years I have dreamed of this trip, since a trip from Sassnitz on Rügen to Bornholm, as a friend of the Atlantic swell raved on about it to me. And then this experience!
I hope to be back on board with you soon, I have planned a trip from Europe to the Caribbean so in 2020, because I do not have 20 years left to dream.

So again, thank you very much for the opportunity to experience this.

Heart-felt greetings from Frankfurt to all, including the team on the high seas in the Mediterranean :-)

André

This ship just keeps o rollin,

‘n’ I found a boat in Spain:
‘Tres Hombres’ was her name.
‘n’ now we keep on sailin’
on the Spanish Main.

We are happy people,
sailin’ on this boat,
drinkin’ beer ‘n’ coffee,

We enjoy the service,
Just to see them work,
But now it’s time for leavin’
And all the best for you.

Not luxurious, but exclusive. I like that.

25.05.2018

The trip was really a sensation. I was so sad when we left the ship. The atmosphere was very special - really a great experience. The crew was very service-oriented and yet casual - a perfect mix for me. Not luxurious, but exclusive. I like that. Service without conventions - great! The trip itself was a social project, we knew that - will we get along with the people on board? The experiment has succeeded, I would even say that friendships have emerged.

I highly recommend anyone considering a sailing trip to consider Sailing-Classics. My experience was very good from every aspect. The cabin was very clean, comfortable and with good air conditioning. Definitely not our last adventure with Sailing-Classics...

20.04.2018

Everyday life has got us in its grip once again, so that I am only now able to write a few lines. And that’s very important to me! We were sailing with Sailing-Classics for the first time, from the 12th to the 26th of February 2018 on the RHEA in the Caribbean, Lesser Antilles. We had a wonderful holiday on a beautiful ship with a great crew...

Of course, we also had a very good time with the other guests, a mixed troupe of 21 at an estimated mid 70 years old, it was absolutely harmonious. The RHEA is an impressive, comfortable ship and glided, even in the storm, high on the wind, seemingly unimpressed by the waves. All in all, we had a great trip. We did not expect to be able to actually sail that much.

"Unusually a lot of wind at this time," was said everywhere. Well, one day of lulls would not have been bad either. Your concept of the sailing trip has risen in our eyes! We are sailors ourselves and are relaxed after this trip. We were doing very well without any independent trip planning, navigation, check-in, check-out, shopping, cooking, cleaning ... and that's why it will not be our last adventure with Sailing-Classics.

A landlubber on a sailing trip...

20.03.2018

We sailed around Greece last year with the KAIRÓS. In my family, my husband is the great lover of ships, I'm more of a landlubber and had some concerns about sailing on a sailing ship across the sea. But one should leave no stone unturned, and so we went with our two children in August for a week on board the KAIRÓS.

After the first quiet night in the port of Corfu, we started the next day out on a longer sea route, as the wind was good and Captain Kevin wanted to take advantage of it. With seven wind force and up to five meters high waves, it was a very stormy crossing. It was very quickly struck with seasickness, gradually setting off the other passengers.

Towards evening we finally reached the harbour. The team was very caring and always inquired about our condition, the great food finally helped me to get back on my feet. Nothing could shock me after this hard day at sea. On the contrary, I started to have more and more fun. The destinations on land were well selected and the choice bays left nothing to be desired. The food was very good and our kids rejoiced every day over the freshly baked cake.

I have not recovered as well on a vacation in a long time as this week on the sailing ship. Much to the delight of my husband, who had expected my future boycott of a sailing trip after the first hard day at sea. Quite the opposite, I would like to take such a trip again. As long as there are enough pills for seasickness!

I have spent 2 wonderful trips on the CHRONOS. Both times I threw a message in the bottle overboard. Honestly, I never believed I’d get an answer. But look...

... a few weeks after the trip, a postcard from Portisco, a port city in Sardinia, fluttered into my mailbox. And that also from a German crew of a charter yacht! Well, it's worth writing a message in a bottle.

A long way away from every-day life...

We have learned to appreciate the informality, the freedom (that's how we felt it); far away from everyday life, and just switch off - barefoot, short pants, T-shirt - the services offered by Sailing-Classics, need I say more? Maybe we’ll do it again in 2018?

A wonderful man, I wish to see him again.

... easily number 1...

03.04.2017

We easily held the ship and crew at number 1 in the guest questionnaire. Solid ship, excellent ship's command (Jan + Jannecke), dedicated crew, great food (Randolf), best service. Something not presented, but everything was fancy and professional in the matter. We felt very comfortable. The possibility to extend our trip for another 3 days and then to go ashore in Bequia directly on the jetty of our friend Kelly was, of course, the salt in the soup for us.

Floating on the clouds for three weeks...

16.01.2016

Memories of three sensational weeks on CHRONOS

It has now been five days since I left the CHRONOS in a wintry 28 °C and nos wind in the British Virgin Islands.

At home, frightening news collapsed on me, even an unexpected funeral was already to gone by. With unparalleled equanimity, I have endured all this, because I spent three weeks floating on clouds, in love with the ship, guests and crew. The inner floating still lingers and when I close my eyes I see the bright light of the Caribbean and the endless horizons, even when it rains and storms outside.

After an admittedly long and tiring trip from Germany, on 19/12 I was once again allowed to set foot on the heavenly maintained, warm teak deck of the CHRONOS - and was immediately at home. Of course, it was an unexpected chance to meet dear friends of the captain again, and the incomparably enchanting service people, as well as the impressive deck hands swirling nimbly on deck and on the mast. Above all, it was the feeling of happiness emanating from this ship: I went with unshakable trust in strong winds and, at first, unexpected waves, putting myself into the hands of extremely professional, friendly and helpful crew members.

St. Maarten was the starting point - in front of me were the Christmas holidays, my birthday, the discovery of new people, a phase to finally develop sea legs, beaches and islands, all to enjoy. The most amazing experience happened immediately in the first hours: I had no signs of fatigue - until I fell into the bunk late on the Caribbean night and fell into the deepest sleep in the middle of a very pleasant thought . That should never have changed in the next three weeks! Ok, one night was different: The crossing to the BVI was super exciting, shooting stars and a completely clear, star-packed sky over us, with significant wind and swinging waves we rode from 9:00 at night, well sheltered, undamaged and really quite motion-rich into our new sailing area. A small, nice addition to nature was the full moon on 25/12 - I shared it with everyone, but it was just for me on my birthday!

For everyone, on the other hand, my birthday cake was in the afternoon: Thank you Constantine!! And not just for that! What have we been served great delights - in the morning, at noon, in the afternoon and in the evening. And so
unendingly, charmingly plotted by three tireless people who really know what service means. After St. Maarten, we headed for the most diverse islands, variety was guaranteed. Whether the highest mountain of Holland (Saba) or St. Kitts (with its unsurpassed, great bar), St. Barth with a view of the mega yachts of the mega-important things and Gustavia in Christmas disguise or just deserted islet for a swim stop. So we returned to St. Maarten after a week. For most guests this is called good bye. No one has passed without regret, no matter
where it led them on their way. It was very touching for me to say goodbye to most, who carried the
expression of very quiet envy, because I was to stay another two weeks.

With newly arrived sailors, first timers or also experienced fur-seals, it was still wonderful sailing wind and meanwhile I felt surprisingly safe on my legs as I started into my second week. Anguilla - partying, exuberance, live music or a boom-box on the beach, for me and the "newcomers" it could not have started out any better. Lots of opportunities then for swimming, snorkelling or dinghy sailing trips. Once again, it was easy to see how easy and relaxed strangers on board the CHRONOS have become to form a harmonious group. The sheer size of the ship makes it possible again and again to pull back a little, to collect self-absorbed impressions, to let the thoughts fly or just to love life. And the days went by far too fast until New Year's. In a grass roots fashion, the captain made the guests decide where to welcome the New Year - the unanimous vote was in favour of the BVI - and so we sailed on the night of December 30 (see above).

A very different area awaited us along the Sir Frances Drake Channel - nearby islands invite us to arrange the best of the best every day: Sailing, swimming, diving, snorkelling, paddling, island visits, in 12 hours all of the possibilities could hardly fit in. For the turn of the year, the crew had increased again: It was an unforgettable evening. Wonderful table decorations, a world-class dinner, early toasts to the local friends and families (who greeted the new year 5 hours earlier) and also for us as the last hours of the year flew by! There is silence over the rest of them...

The new year we were all allowed to start with a very refreshing little swimming trip on an even smaller sand island, a few palm trees also decorated the scene. And then we went on, from island to island. To my deepest regret, I realized that every day was getting shorter Do not forget the evening on Anegada: The only non-volcanic island of the BVI, more reminiscent of Texel and surrounded by a very shallow reef, invites you to Lobster - a must!

Due to the depth of the CHRONOS, we are far offshore - the dinghies have to cover quite a distance. But that's worth it: In The Lobster Trap, a long, white-veiled table was set for us for over 30 people and then we were served. It was picture perfect.  My soon-to-be-faring farewell is not mentioned here, because it was very personal. And from such cinematic impressions full up to the top, I'm sitting at the desk again, and I continue to drift and lurch, funny.

I wish a very large group of sailing enthusiasts the experience of CHRONOS - not to mention: The "little sister" KAIRÓS is in no way inferior!!! And I will come back sometime.
